Police: Blast in Pakistani valley wounds 7
MINGORA, Pakistan — Police say an explosion near a bus terminal in Pakistan’s Swat Valley has wounded at least seven people.
Police official Rehmat Khan says the blast went off Thursday around noon in Mingora, the main town in Swat.
The valley was the scene of a major Pakistani military operation against the Taliban in 2009.
Though that offensive is believed to have pushed out many of the militants, attacks have occasionally occurred in the region since.
