Jharkhand bank employee shot during robbery bid

RANCHI - Unidentified armed men shot and critically injured a bank employee in Jharkhand’s Chatra district while trying to rob the bank Wednesday, police said.
According to the police, five unidentified armed men barged into Gramin Bank, situated on the outskirts of Chatra district, around 170 km from Ranchi, Wednesday afternoon.
The robbers demanded the keys of the bank locker. But when the manager refused to give the keys, the armed men open fire, due to which an employee, Prasuram Prasad sustained bullet injuries.
The bank employees raised a hue and cry, which prompted the criminals to flee from the bank.
Prasuram is critically injured and has been referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi for treatment, police said.
