LUCKNOW - Three railway employees repairing tracks were killed when they were run over by a train in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district Wednesday. A fourth gangman is critically injured.
The four gangmen were carrying out some repair work on the tracks when they came under the Jammu Tawi-Kanpur Express near Agvanpur railway station in Moradabad, about 250 km from here.
“Of the four gangmen, three died on the spot. The other gangman, who was critically injured in the accident, is being treated at a hospital. His condition is stated to be serious,” Government Railway Police (GRP) inspector Shiv Singh told reporters in Moradabad.
“The four were working on the up line when they were knocked down by the train running on that line,” he said.
The train was heading to Kanpur from Jammu.
