Flight instructor, 2 brothers die in Texas crash
TOLAR, Texas — A flight instructor and two brothers from India are dead following a single-engine plane crash in Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the three men were returning to Arlington from a trip to a barbecue restaurant when the plane crashed Tuesday in a field near Tolar, about 45 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
The victims were identified as 26-year-old Casey Brinegar of Arlington, a licensed pilot and flight instructor; his 22-year-old roommate Kartik Kalaichelvan, an Arlington flight school student; and 19-year-old Pratik Kalaichelvan, who was visiting his brother from India.
The Federal Aviation Administration says authorities are trying to determine who was flying the plane and what caused the crash.
