Journalist injured in Uttar Pradesh blast brought to Delhi

LUCKNOW - Indian Express correspondent Vijay Pratap Singh, who sustained serious injuries in Monday’s bomb blast in Uttar Pradesh’ Allahabad city which left one dead and four including a minister injured, was airlifted to New Delhi Tuesday evening, officials said.
He was flown by an air ambulance, specially arranged by the Indian Express group from the Apollo Hospital where Singh has been admitted, a Uttar Pradesh government spokesman told media persons here.
“His condition was quite critical and he had already received several bottles of blood until this evening” Allahabad district magistrate Sanjay Prasad told IANS.
The journalist was walking down with Institutional Finance (Stamps and Registration) Minister Nand Gopal Nandi when the bomb exploded, leaving them and three others injured.
Police constable Sanjay, who also suffered serious injuries in the blast, was brought to Lucknow by a state aircraft Tuesday evening and admitted to the critical care unit of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), where the minister was already undergoing treatment.
The constable’s condition was described as “serious”, while the minister was stated to be out of danger.
