CAIRO - A Egyptian teenager was arrested Sunday 10 km off the country’s northern coast while he was swimming in an apparent attempt to migrate to Turkey, police said.

Hassan Sayed Sleem, 17, was wearing a life jacket and swimming in Egypt’s territorial waters off the coast of el-Arish, when coast guards spotted him, Xinhua reported citing police officials.

Hassan later said he was seeking migration to Turkey and that he was hoping any of the cargo ships leaving el-Arish would pick him up to complete his journey.
