6.2-magnitude quake jolts Chile

SANTIAGO - An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted the northern part of Chile, but there was no report of damage or casualties, the US Geological Survey (USGS) has said.

The quake occurred at 0011 GMT Monday, with the epicentre 80 km northeast of Calama in the Atacama desert, Xinhua reported quoting the USGS.
