200 killed in Congo explosion

KINSHASA - At least 200 people, including five UN peacekeepers, were killed Friday night when an oil tanker exploded in the Democratic Republic of Congo, media reports said Saturday.

According to the France 24 television, the deaths took place when the tanker overturned and exploded, Xinhua reported. The UN said Saturday that five peacekeepers were among the dead.

The Red Cross put the death toll at more than 200.
