Parents recount night fox attacked their twins

LONDON — The parents of the twin baby girls that were mauled by a fox say they found their children covered in blood after the animal crept into their upstairs cribs last month.

Pauline and Nick Koupparis told the BBC that they decided to describe the gruesome attack that transfixed London’s tabloids in hopes of dispelling rumors that they tried to cover up an assault by a family pet.

Pauline Koupparis says animal rights activists also sent “quite nasty” messages. Police were stationed outside their home for days.

Pauline says her daughter Isabella’s arm “looked like it had been through a cheese grater,” and her other daughter was also bloodied.

The special airing Thursday was produced by Leopard Films, where Nick Koupparis works.
