Wildfire near Flagstaff, Ariz., fully contained
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — A wildfire burning four miles north of Flagstaff is fully contained after charring more than 15,000 acres.
U.S. Forest Service officials say the so-called Schultz Fire has burned an estimated 15,075 acres, or more than 23 square miles of scenic northern Arizona forest. It has cost more than $8.6 million to fight.
The blaze was started June 20 by a campfire that was abandoned without being properly extinguished in the area of Schultz Tank, Little Elden Trail and Forest Road 420. The Forest Service is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
