Sheriff: Wis. garage-death inquiry will take time
MILWAUKEE — Officials in Milwaukee say they want to examine every piece of evidence after a 30-foot concrete slab fell from the facade of a parking garage, killing a 15-year-old boy.
Jack Takerian, Milwaukee County’s director of transportation and public works, said an inspection of the facade last year found no problems. Sheriff David Clarke said investigators were looking into all possible causes, including whether a car hit the wall, and will need time to collect and analyze evidence.
The concrete slab fell Thursday afternoon, killing Jared Kellner of Greenfield. His friend, 15-year-old Eric Wosinski, was treated at a hospital and released. That boy’s mother, Amy Wosinski, is hospitalized in satisfactory condition.
They had been heading to Summerfest, a lakefront music festival.
