China floods toll rises to 175

BEIJING - Torrential rain and floods in ten regions of southern China have left 175 dead and 107 missing, a government office said Monday.

The floods have affected 25.15 million people and caused the collapse of 144,000 houses, Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters said.

The worst-hit provinces include Jiangxi, Fujian, Hunan and Guangxi, Xinhua reported.
