LUCKNOW - An aircraft carrying Uttar Pradesh Governor B.L. Joshi made an unscheduled landing Wednesday evening at an Indian Air Force base in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district due to bad weather, an official said.

The plane, flying from Saharanpur to Lucknow, landed at the Trishul air base in Bareilly, some 300 km from Lucknow.

“He (Joshi) is completely safe and sound. Inclement weather was the reason behind the emergency landing at the air force station,” District Magistrate Anil Garg told IANS on telephone from Bareilly.

After the emergency landing, Joshi drove down to Bareilly’s circuit house.
