14 missing after houses collapse in China

BEIJING - Fourteen people were missing Tuesday after their homes collapsed in heavy rains in southwest China, Xinhua reported.

Nineteen houses collapsed in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and search for the missing people is on, officials said.

Heavy rains lashed the Guangxi Zhuang region and the provinces of Guangdong, Fujian, Hunan and Jiangxi since Monday, the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters said.

Rescue workers are being mobilized to conduct relief work.
