Four policemen die in road accident

LUCKNOW - Five people, including four policemen, were killed early Monday when a speeding truck hit their vehicle in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district, an official said.

The accident took place on the Shahjahanpur-Bareilly road when the truck spun out of control and rammed into the jeep. The policemen were on patrol duty. The fifth victim was the smashed vehicle’s driver.

The truck driver fled from the spot, Deputy Superintendent of Police V.K. Tyagi said in Shahjahanpur, about 150 km from here.
