Crews searching for about 24 after Ark. floods

CADDO GAP, Ark. — Arkansas state police say the number of people missing after flash flooding on a pair of rivers is down to about two dozen.

Floods early Friday killed 17 people at the Albert Pike Recreation Area in southern Montgomery County. There were reports to a call center on Friday about 73 people unaccounted for.

But Capt. Mike Fletcher of the Arkansas State Police says there are about 24 people unaccounted for as of Saturday morning.

He says no survivors were found Saturday.

Rescue crews using horses, kayaks and ATVs have spread out across parts of Montgomery and Pike counties to search for survivors or victims.
