Bomb hidden in trash at Baghdad market kills 3

BAGHDAD — Iraqi officials say a bomb hidden in a pile of trash has killed three people at a market in southern Baghdad.

Police and hospital officials say the explosion took place in a market in the Dora neighborhood on Friday morning. The blast also wounded 10 people.

Officials also say that the death toll from a bombing on Thursday evening has risen to five. The car bombing targeted a joint patrol of Iraqi soldiers and members of a government-backed anti-insurgent Sunni group known as Sons of Iraq or Sahwa.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
