Two killed in Mumbai wall collapse

MUMBAI - Two girls were killed and a woman critically injured after a wall of a slum dwelling came crashing down at Antop Hill in central Mumbai here Tuesday, officials said.
“A woman and two girls were trapped inside the debris after a wall came crashing down in Kamrajnagar area of Antop Hill this (Tuesday) afternoon,” a fire brigade officer said.
“They were rushed to the Lokmanya Tilak Hospital, Sion, where eight-year-old Nandini Chinnapa Devendragirl was pronounced dead on admission,” an official of the hospital said.
Twelve-year-old Reema, who had suffered head injuries, succumbed while getting treatment in the hospital.
“She had suffered other injuries also, but the head injury cost her life,” said the on-duty doctor.
Jaya Krishnathan Devendra, 33, continues to be critical and will be kept under observation for 24 hours, hospital officials said.
