Iraq officials say car bomb kills 3 in Baghdad
BAGHDAD — Iraqi officials say a car bomb has exploded in a shopping area in western Baghdad, killing three people.
The attack in the Iraqi capital comes one day after a car bombing killed five people outside a Baghdad police station during an early morning shift change.
Police and hospital officials say Monday’s attack occurred at 11 a.m., in a market in the capital’s Mansour neighborhood.
The blast also wounded at least nine people and damaged several shops.
All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the are not authorized to speak to the media.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi officials say attackers killed three family members in a town west of Baghdad and blew up the homes of four policemen in a predominantly Sunni village nearby.
Police and hospital officials say gunmen shot a man and his two sons in an attack Monday on their house near the town of Abu Ghraib, west of the Iraqi capital.
A police official says the dead man’s brother is a prominent member of anti-insurgent fighters known as Sons of Iraq. He says the gunmen likely thought he was staying in the house.
Police officials also say that attackers in a nearby village forced families of four policemen out of their houses at dawn and then bombed the buildings.
All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the are not authorized to speak to the media.
