Robbers loot over Rs.4 lakhs in Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD - In separate incidents, armed men looted cash and valuables worth over Rs.4 lakhs from two houses in Loni area of Ghaziabad, police said Sunday.

According to police, around 15-16 men armed with iron rods and pistol barged into the Ram Park Extension house of Nek Mohammad and his wife Parveen at around 1 a.m.

Holding the family hostage at gunpoint, the robbers looted cash and jewellery worth Rs.2 lakhs and fled.

Parveen is reportedly associated with Congress Women’s Cell.

Ghaziabad is a suburb of the national capital.

In another incident, around seven or eight armed men entered house of Ashok Singh in Pooja Colony of Loni area at around 3.30 a.m., police said.

After over powering a person sleeping at the house entrance, they barged into the house. The robbers thrashed the family members and robbed them of cash and jewellery worth around Rs.2 lakh, police said.

Ashok works at a petrol filling station in Delhi and also runs a dairy business from his home.
