Possible violations found at site of NH explosion

COLEBROOK, N.H. — Court documents indicate that explosives may have been stored or manufactured improperly or mishandled at a New Hampshire gun and ammunition plant where an explosion killed two men last month.

The Caledonian-Record reports the state fire marshal’s office received two search warrants for the MDM Muzzleloader plant in Colebrook, where another man was injured in the May 14 blast.

The documents show that an interview with an electrician shed light on a potential wiring issue or electrical hazard in one of the main production machines before the explosion.

The documents also say the injured worker told investigators that the piece of equipment suspected to have caused the blast was repaired a day before the explosion.

Colebrook is about 10 miles from the Canadian border.
