Hyderabad to open police station against cyber crimes

HYDERABAD - A police station to exclusively deal with cyber crimes will be opened in this technology hub, Hyderabad Police Commissioner A.K. Khan said Thursday.

Khan said police were concerned over the increasing incidence of cyber crimes, especially the online frauds.

“Chatting with unknown persons is the main cause of increasing cyber crimes,” Khan tld reporters here.

The city police also released a CD containing dos and don’ts of online chatting to create awareness among people about the online chatting.

The police commissioner held a meeting with representatives of banks and asked them to increase security in and around their premises to check the increasing number of crimes.

“We are concerned over the rising number of crimes around the banks,” he said.
