BHUBANESWAR - A passenger train was halted for about an hour Saturday near Orissa’s Jharsuguda town following a bomb scare as villagers spotted some suspicious material on the tracks. After searching the area, police found some fire crackers.

The Jharsuguda Gondia passenger train was stopped in the morning near Chaukipada village on the outskirts of the district headquarters of Jharsuguda, some 375 km from here.

The train was allowed to resume its journey after police personnel examined the tracks and declared it safe, Inspector General of Police (Railways) Pradeep Kapur told IANS.

“We searched the location and found five fire crackers,” Kapur said.
