Eight killed in Jammu and Kashmir accidents

JAMMU - Eight people were killed in two accidents near Ramban on the Jammu- Srinagar national highway Thursday, police said.

A Sumo jeep, carrying passengers from Jammu to Srinagar, skidded off the road at Batteru Chashma, about 165 km north of Jammu on the highway, killing six people on the spot.

In another accident, a truck rolled down into a gorge in the same area, killing two people.
