600 evacuated after cruise ship catches fire

OSLO - More than 600 people were evacuated from a German cruise ship in western Norway after a fire broke out in the engine room of the vessel, media reports said Sunday.

The MS Deutschland was docked at Eidfjord port when the incident occurred, Xinhua reported, quoting Norwegian NTB news agency. The fire was later brought under control.

The vessel is bound for Hamburg from Eidfjord, some 200 km northwest of the capital Oslo.
