Moscow, May 19 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Miss Russia 1998 Anna Malova was arrested in New York for illegal possession of drugs, FoxNews.com reported Wednesday.

The 38-year-old beauty queen, a former Miss Universe semi-finalist, was apprehended by a special narcotics officer when she was leaving a pharmacy store. She was also charged with forgery and impersonating as a physician.

“The doctor believed Malova stole a prescription pad and wrote out phony prescriptions for painkillers,” the report said, citing the former beauty queen’s pharmacist.

Malova, who studied in Russia to be a doctor but is not licensed to practice in the United States, was arrested on similar charges three months ago.
