Police arrest landlord in NJ pizzeria bomb plot
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Police have arrested a New Jersey building owner they say placed a bomb in a pizzeria that had been rented by a man with whom he’d battled over back rent.
Milan Bolich Jr. was arrested Monday evening in Jersey City. He’s charged with criminal attempted aggravated arson, risking widespread injury and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He didn’t comment as he was led away in police custody Monday night.
The bomb was found early Monday morning after a neighbor smelled a strong gas odor.
Police Deputy Chief Peter Nalbach says it was made of a gas can and wiring and was set up to go off when someone opened the pizzeria’s front door.
