Man behind many dacoity cases held in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A 22-year-old man involved in many cases of dacoity was arrested here Tuesday, police said.

Harish was arrested at Ajmeri Gate Chowk during a special vehicles checking in view of terrorist threats.

He was caught after he tried to dodge the checking. Suspicious police officials followed him and caught him after a short chase, a police official said.

Harish with his other accomplices has been involved in several cases of dacoity across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. His other accomplices have already been arrested.

Harish is a BSc 1st year dropout from DAV College of Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh. He left college after the death of his father and took up agriculture in his village, the police official said.

According to Delhi police, Harish became a criminal after coming in contact with Satish Choudhary, who was heading an inter-state gang of dacoits.
