Two drug peddlers held with one kg heroin

NEW DELHI - Two drug peddlers were arrested in the capital and over one kg heroin was seized from their possession, police said Monday.
As much as 1.006 kg heroin worth around Rs.1 crore in the international market was recovered from Rahul Kumar, 26, and Lucky, 30, who were arrested Saturday.
“Secret information was received that two persons would come near Chawri Bazar Metro station at about 10 p.m. and they would be in possession of huge quantity of drugs,” a senior police officer said.
According to police, a trap was immediately laid around the Metro station.
“The duo came there on a motorcycle. They were stopped by the police party. On their being searched, 1.006 kg of heroin was recovered,” the officer added.
Kumar is a service attendant in hotels and guest houses in Karol Bagh and Paharganj while Lucky is a driver.
“During interrogation, the duo revealed that they began peddling drugs about three months ago. They came in contact with one Symond who supplied heroin to a guest house in Paharganj. Symond spoke to them from telephone booths and used to meet them at different places in Delhi,” the officer said.
