Small fire breaks out at Reagan airport restaurant
ARLINGTON, Va. — Reagan National Airport officials say a small fire at a McDonald’s restaurant in the terminal caused minor flight delays. No injuries were reported.
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokeswoman Courtney Mickalonis says the fire broke out past the security checkpoint around 3 p.m. Monday.
Mickalonis says the airport fire department extinguished it within a few minutes. The cause isn’t yet known.
Travelers were moved to the other side of the terminal, but there were no evacuations. Some flights leaving from gates near the restaurant had minor delays.
