NEW DELHI - A woman and a boy were killed and several people injured Sunday in a stampede at the New Delhi railway station, doctors said.

“Two people were brought dead while seven injured people are undergoing treatment,” Amit Banerjee, medical superintendent of the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital, told IANS.

He said the 35-year-old woman, identified as Soni, and the 14-year-old boy died on their way to the hospital. “The condition of seven of the injured is stable,” he added.

The incident took place around 2.30 p.m. on platforms 12 and 13 when people were boarding two Bihar-bound trains, a senior police official told IANS.
