NEW DELHI - A Blueline bus driver, involved in a hit-and-run case, was arrested with the help of locals, police said Sunday.

According to police, Alamgir was the driver of a bus that ran over a person at Kamla Market Thursday.

“We took assistance from participants of the eyes and ears scheme. A local vendor helped us in identifying the driver,” a senior police official told IANS. The accused driver was held Saturday.

A vendor informed the police about the registration number of the bus.

“After getting the information, we impounded the vehicle and Alamgir was arrested Saturday,” the official said.
