High profile cheat held in Delhi

NEW DELHI - Delhi Police Friday claimed to have arrested in the city a high-profile cheat involved in several cases across many states.
Manikandan Pillai used eight different names to dupe men of Rs.1 crore. At least three cases from Delhi, Kolkata and Pune have been solved with his arrest, Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Neeraj Thakur said.
Pillai was arrested from Chandni Chowk where a trap was laid after police received a cue about his visit to the place, he added.
Pillai is accused of preparing fake identity documents like driving license, PAN cards and visiting cards bearing names of reputed companies. About $24,000, three mobile phones, six SIM cards, one forged driving license, two PAN cards and visiting cards were recovered from Pillai.
He has been involved in several cases in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai and Bhubaneswar.
