NEW DELHI - A city court Friday extended by 14 days the judicial custody of former Medical Council of India (MCI) president Ketan Desai and three others arrested in a corruption case.

Additional Sessions Judge O.P. Saini asked the jail authorities to present Desai, J.P. Singh, Kanwaljit Singh and Sukhwinder Singh before court May 28.

Desai was arrested along with the other three April 22 for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs.2 crore to grant recognition to a medical college in Punjab.

The court, which had earlier dismissed the bail plea of Desai, Friday deferred the hearing on the bail applications of Kanwaljit Singh and Sukhwinder Singh to May 28.
