NEW DELHI - Two people from Rajasthan were held in the high security North Block of the Central Secretariat here after two live cartridges were found in their possession, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official said Thursday.

Mukesh Kumar and Moti Lal, both hailing from Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district, were arrested during a security check. They claimed they were trying to meet Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena to invite him for a wedding, the official said.

“The incident occurred at gate number two of the North Block at around 2:20 p.m. Two live cartridges were found from their possession,” the CISF official said.

Meena, a former Indian Police Service officer, represents Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency of the Lok Sabha in Rajasthan.

The official said the duo had earlier gone to the minister’s residence in the capital to invite him for the wedding.

According to the CISF official, the two have been handed over to Delhi Police.

North Block in New Delhi is a high security zone and houses a number of central government ministries, including finance and home affairs.
