Libyan Plane Crash: 100 People Feared Died

TRIPOLI (GaeaTimes.com) — Atleast 100 people are believed to be dead in an air crash in Tripoli airport Wednesday. Afriqiyah Airways has confirmed that flight 8U771 crashed on landing in the Libyan capital of Tripoli at around 04:00 UTC (0600AM local time). The Libyan Airways plane had 104 people on board.
While 100 people are reported dead, a 8-year-old child survived. Libyan television is showing live telecast of the spot where the fatal accident took place. A wide spread of area is shown with debris scattering here and there. Rescue workers and police, wearing masks and gloves are spotted running with bodies. They are putting best effort to save life, if there is any.
According to sources the airbus was arriving from Johannesburg, South Africa. There is no confirmed news on survivors or casualties as of now. Afriqiyah Airways said,
At this moment, we have no information concerning possible casualties or survivors. Our information is that there were 93 passenger and 11 crew aboard. Authorities are conducting the search and rescue mission.
