Woman fighting for life after acid attack

NEW DELHI - A 27-year-old woman is in critical condition here after a spurned suitor threw acid at her Saturday, police said Tuesday. A search is on for the assailant.

Pradeep, the younger brother of Jyoti’s brother-in-law wanted to marry her but she had turned him down.

According to police, Jyoti was waiting for a bus at Mandir Marg bus stand when Pradeep approached her and an argument broke out between them.

Pradeep then threw acid at her, a police official said.

“We have registered a case against Pradeep. We are trying to trace him,” the official added.
