“Ritika and Pallavi, two students of Class 12 of Carmel Convent School, had come to a photostat shop outside the school when they were attacked by a youngster who tried to snatch the Rs.500 note one of them was holding in hand,” a police officer said. Nobody inthe shop or the area stepped forward to help the girls.

The girls resisted and in the process, both got cuts on their hands. The cut was so deep that Ritika, a resident of East Kailash, had to get 42 stitches while Pallavi, a resident of Gurgaon, had to get 35 stitches in her hand.

“We have registered a case and are trying to trace the assailant,” the officer added.
