Girls assaulted for resisting robbery bid

NEW DELHI - Two girls were assaulted with a blade when they resisted a robbery bid in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area, police said Tuesday.

“Two students of Class 12 of Carmel Convent School in Chanakyapuri area were assaulted with a blade when they resisted a robbery bid,” a police officer said.

According to police, the two students were standing at a photocopy shop with a Rs.500 note in their hand when a man tried to snatch the note. The girls resisted and in the process one got a cut on her hand.

“We have registered a case and are trying to trace the assailant,” the officer added.
