KOLKATA - A married couple and their four-year-old baby were found dead under mysterious circumstances at a holiday home at the Digha sea resort in West Bengal’s East Midnapore district Tuesday.

District Superintendent of Police Ashok Biswas told IANS that Anup Adak, a resident of Budge Budge in South 24-Parganas district, was staying in the holiday home run by the Budge Budge municipality since May 7 along with his wife and the child.

“Today (Tuesday) the holiday home employees became suspicious when they did not open the door despite several knocks. They broke open the door and found all three dead,” Biswas said.

While Adak’s wife and the child were frothing, he was found hanging from the ceiling.

“It is clear that the woman and the child had been poisoned,” he said.

While initial investigation indicated that Adak had hanged himself after poisoning his wife and child, police are also probing whether there could be some other angle into the incident.
