Pregnant woman kills herself after tiff with husband

NEW DELHI - A pregnant woman allegedly committed suicide in Delhi early Monday after a spat with her husband, police said.

Preeti’s body was found hanging from the ceiling of a room in her residence in Sangam Vihar of south east Delhi around 6.30 a.m. by her husband Jitender, who informed the police.

According to police, Preeti had an argument with her husband late Sunday evening after some dispute with her sister-in-law.

“Thereafter, she went to sleep in a separate room and was found dead in the morning,” a police official said. According to police, Preeti was pregnant.

No suicide note has been recovered by police and a sub-district magistrate is investigating the matter.
