Two held for illegal slaughter in Delhi

NEW DELHI - Two people have been arrested for illegal slaughter of sheep in central Delhi, police said Saturday.

“Twenty slaughtered and 10 live sheep have been recovered from their possession,” a police official said.

The accused were identified as Furkan and his son Tariq, residents of Daryaganj in central Delhi.

“During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they had brought the sheep for slaughter and selling their meat. The live sheep have been handed over to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD),” the police official added.
