NEW DELHI - Two young men were arrested Friday on charges of cheating people and duping them of their valuables in Delhi, police said.

Narad Mehto, 25, and Ajay Kumar, 19, would “tell victims that they have found huge amounts of money but they do not have a bank account and if the victim would let them deposit the money in their accounts. If somebody agreed, they handed over a bundle of papers packed, and run away taking their mobile phones or other expensive items,” a police officer said.

“They mainly targeted people who looked like labourers or villagers and came to the bank to deposit money,” the officer added.
