TEXAS (GaeaTimes.com)- The San Antonio Refinery explosion that took place on Wednesday has left one of the workers critically injured. Another worker who went missing was found later. The refinery had 100 people working when the dangerous explosion took place as has been reported by Deborah Foster, a San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson. A truck explosion led to the fire and soon the place was covered by thick plumes of smoke. The residents adjacent to the refinery were evacuated from their homes after the explosion. The AGE refinery head, Cindy Campbell later said that the truck was docking when it exploded suddenly.

Reportedly a number of minor explosions also took place after the first one rocked the San Antonio refinery. While no death has been reported after the explosion number of refinery works have complained of pain in their chest owing to the thick smoke they were trapped in. The explosion has filled the air in the region with carbon and other particles which may lead to respiratory problems for the residents. One other refinery worker was treated at the place itself. The worker who received serious injuries was admitted to the Brooke Army Medical Center. The worker who was tracked later is reportedly getting treatment for dehydration.

The firefighters sprung into action after reaching the explosion site. They managed to bring down the blaze by 4 pm. The rescue team also managed to stop the fuel flow by shutting off valves in the facility which was feeding raging fire. The roads closer to the San Antonio refinery were also closed down for some time.
