22 dies after consuming spurious liquor in Indonesia

JAKARTA - At least 22 people have died and 300 fell sick after consuming spurious liquor in Indonesia’s Central Java province, Xinhua reported Friday.
The toll is likely to increase. Police said the victims bought the liquor from a resident in Salatiga April 16.
People were admitted to hospital when they suffered nausea, breathing difficulties and headaches after drinking the spurious liquor. The first death was reported April 18.
The seller could face a jail sentence of up to 15 years.
