25 killed in road accident in Yemen

SANAA - At least 25 people, including 17 women, were killed Thursday in a road accident in the eastern Yemeni province of Marib, media report said.

The accident took place when a vehicle overloaded with people overturned in Harib district, 75 km to the south of the capital city of Marib province, leaving 17 women, six children and two men dead, Xinhua reported quoting state-run Saba news agency.

The victims belong to the same family, interior ministry official Mohamed Abu-Luhoum, said adding that the driver lost control over the vehicle due to overspeeding.
