Explosion at Turkish coal mine traps at least 15
ANKARA, Turkey — Authorities say an explosion at a coal mine in northern Turkey has trapped at least 15 workers underground.
The blast took place Monday at the Karadon mine near the Black Sea port town of Zonguldak. Turkey’s coal mine agency said rescue workers were trying to reach the workers below the surface. Engineer Husnu Unal says eight other workers were rescued.
There was no word on the cause of the blast.
