24 workers trapped in China coal mine blast

BEIJING - At least 24 workers were trapped underground after a gas explosion in a coal mine in southwest China Thursday, Xinhua reported.

A total of 31 miners were working in a shaft of Yuanyang Colliery in Guizhou province, rescuers said, adding that seven of them managed to escape.
