15 villagers electrocuted in eastern India

At least 15 villagers were electrocuted in eastern Indian after a high tension wire fell on them, officials said today.

The incidnet occured near Satpura village in Bihar’s vaishali district this evening.

Officials said the villagers were returning on a truck after cremating body of a co-villagers when a high voltage wire fell on their truck, killing 15 of them and injuring a dozen others.

“We have recovered the bodies of 15 persons so far”, a local senior police official Sujit Kumar said today.

Around 50 persons were aboard the ill-fated truck.
