Pakistan’s ambassador attacked in Tehran

TEHRAN - Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran was attacked in his car by an Afghan citizen in Tehran Tuesday, local media reported.

Iran’s foreign ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast confirmed the attack and said the ambassador was injured and immediately transferred to hospital.

The spokesman condemned the attack and said that the assailant has already been arrested.

He gave neither further details about the ambassador’s condition nor the motive behind the attack.
